Salina Cruz Refinery Delayed Coker Furnaces

PEMEX is investing in constructing two new coker plants at the Tula refinery and Salina Cruz refinery, scheduled to go online in 2024, to phase out fuel oil production. The Salina Cruz cracking refinery, located in Oaxaca, Mexico, is a non-integrated cracking facility owned by Petroleos Mexicanos. It commenced operations in 1979 and boasts a Nelson Complexity Index (NCI) of 8.1. Works on the Salina Cruz unit began in 2022. The plant is expected to contribute to the elimination of fuel oil and the increased production of ultra-low sulfur gasoline and diesel at the refinery.

Scarabeo 5

The Scarabeo 5 is a semi-submersible offshore unit belonging to Saipem, originally designed as a 4th-generation drilling floater for exploration and production activities in harsh and subarctic environments. In 2023, Saipem was awarded a contract by Eni Congo to convert the unit into a Floating Production Unit — FPU for the Congo LNG Project. Once installed offshore the Republic of Congo, northwest of the Djeno Terminal, the unit will separate gas and liquids and compress the gas to feed a nearby FLNG unit.

Granulation Plant Project

The Granulation Plant Project is part of ANWIL’s Fertilizer Expansion Program at its production site in Włocławek, Poland. As part of the ORLEN Group, ANWIL expanded its fertilizer production capacity by more than 50% through the construction of three new production facilities. The new granulation plant increases the production of high-quality granular nitrogen fertilizers, helping to meet the demand of Polish farmers while reducing the country’s reliance on fertilizer imports.
