The Berri field, situated along the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, is undergoing expansion through the Berri Increment Program (BIP) to increase its crude production capacity to 500,000 barrels per day (bpd). Initially discovered in 1964, the Berri field commenced crude oil production in 1970, with the Berri gas plant starting operations in 1977. Currently capable of producing 250,000 bpd of Arab Light crude, the field’s expansion program aims to double its crude production capacity through enhanced oil recovery techniques.

Located onshore Libya, the Abu Attifel and NC 125 fields are active in conventional oil production. Their peak production occurred in 1994, having already recovered 92.14% of their total recoverable reserves. The 230,000 BPD Duqm Refinery stands as a crucial endeavor for the advancement of Duqm, the Al Wusta Governorate, and the broader Omani economy. With the goal of establishing one of the Middle East’s premier ports in the Duqm region, the Sultanate of Oman aims to capitalize on its strategic location along the Arabian Sea. Within this framework, this project serves as the primary driving force and facilitator for the subsequent development of a significant new commercial, residential, and touristic area in Oman.
